Who We Are

The Spokane Municipal Community Court (SMCC) is a therapeutic court established in 2013 aimed at connecting community members to organizations in the Spokane area to address root causes of low-level crime (namely lack of resources and poverty). The Court addresses these causes by providing resources to connect people living in poverty with options to help lift them out of poverty as well as aiming to increase public trust and confidence in the justice system.

What We Do

The Spokane Municipal Community Court (SMCC) connects clients to community resources to help them obtain needs such as housing, medical care, insurance, and much more. SMCC is not only open to those involved in the justice system, but also to the public at large. Clients are able to visit one of three locations on Monday or Tuesdays to talk to service providers and the SMCC Team as they complete the community court program and/or seek services. SMCC operates out of the following three locations and dates each week: *Due to COVID-19 the SMCC hours of operation are more varied than before depending on the amount of clients present. While Court starts at 9am on Mondays and Tuesdays, it may be adjourned at times ranging between 10:30am and 12:00pm on average.* Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center | Every Other Monday (1st & 3rd week of each month) 500 S.
