Make a Real-Time Impact During Disasters

Disaster Action Team (DAT) Duty Officers are the behind-the-scenes heroes who coordinate local emergency responses as they unfold. From the comfort of your home, you’ll ensure that people affected by disasters receive the care and support they need by dispatching trained volunteers to the scene.

What You’ll Do:

  • Monitor incoming disaster alerts and assess response needs
  • Dispatch Red Cross volunteers to provide immediate assistance
  • Communicate clearly and calmly with agencies and team members
  • Use Red Cross systems to track and manage response activities

What You’ll Need:

  • Comfort talking on the phone with new people
  • Ability to learn and use computer applications
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Reliable access to a computer, internet, and phone
  • Willingness to complete Red Cross training

Why It Matters:

Your coordination ensures that families affected by disasters receive timely help, shelter, and emotional support. You’ll be a vital part of the Red Cross mission—Sleeves up. Hearts open. All in.
