Project Description: We will divide into 4 teams to tackle the project areas. 3 teams will work on staining the picnic shelters. There are 2 shelters located at the main parking area and the 3rd shelter is located down the street at the beginner trailhead. The 3 shelters have been prepped and are ready for a fresh coat of stain. We will use brushes and rollers to apply the stain. The fourth team can collect trash along Old Trails Road and prune dead limbs from Ponderosa trees.
Hiking Information: Within a couple hundred feet of the parking area.
Planning Information:
- No experience is necessary; we will provide the training and tools you need.
- Expect to be physically active at your own pace for up to 4 hours on uneven terrain.
- No problem if you need to leave early, but please be on time to sign in and attend safety briefing!
- We are unable to sign off on court mandated community service.
Things to bring:
Required:
- Sturdy closed-toe shoes
- Clothing you don't mind getting stained
- Work gloves
- Eye Protection
- Discover Parking Pass (we can issue a day pass if you do not have one)
Optional: (donate tools for the project/volunteer program)
- Paint brushes
- Rollers/Trays
Work gloves and eye protection will be provided but, if possible, we recommend bringing your own.
