Description

SEEKING DRIVERS to help transport youth

------------------------------------------------------------

You can make a difference in the life of a foster child by becoming a "Drive from the Heart" volunteer driver with the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families. We are currently searching for volunteers who can offer as little as a few hours of their time each week to transport foster children to visits and therapy appts.

We will provide necessary car seats, CPR training, CPR certification, and mileage reimbursement will be provided from the moment you leave to pick up a child.

Becoming a volunteer driver is easy, rewarding and fun!

Why become a driver with Drive from the Heart?

  • Choose when you drive! We plan around your availability and can work to accommodate your situation.
  • Flexible commitment drives as little as once a month, to weekly or multiple times a day.
  • Receive non-taxable mileage reimbursement of $0.725 per mile!
  • On transports longer than 3 hours, receive meals based on a per diem rate.
  • You will directly impact and uplift the lives of foster children and families by facilitating mental health, physical, and behavioral visits.
  • Build working relationships with local community and education members. As well as gain valuable references for professional development.
  • If you're willing, potentially get to see roads across the state, our region works with placements across Washington. Primarily the Moses Lake, Spokane, Colville, Yakima, and Newport areas.  As well as occasional opportunities to other regions.

Drive from the Heart requirements:

  • Be over 18 years of age
