Help Spokane Valley Community Advocates (SVCA) guide the next chapter of our all-volunteer nonprofit. Board & Leadership Volunteers provide oversight, strengthen community connections, and actively support our rebuild and relaunch goals.
Volunteer Duties:
- Provide guidance and organizational oversight
- Support strategic planning and long-term sustainability
- Strengthen community partnerships and connections
- Help build leadership capacity for SVCA’s next chapter
- Support volunteer development and organizational growth
Good Fit For: Volunteers with board governance experience or those willing to learn and apply new skills while actively participating in SVCA’s rebuild, relaunch, and long-term sustainability goals. SVCA values diverse perspectives, including lived experience with barriers similar to those faced by the neighbors we serve. Board members should support an inclusive, secular-based environment and be comfortable working with neurodiverse volunteers and community members.
ADA accessibility varies based on tasks and locations. Meetings and other work can be done remotely. WSP background check required. 18+. Training/Mentoring provided.
Time Commitment: 5–10 hours per month
Meeting Commitment: 4 quarterly board meetings and 1 annual meeting
Event Support: Assist with 4 community events annually
