Who We Are
SVCA was launched in Jan 2021, to provide access to services in the Greater Spokane Valley, where a gap had existed for decades. While plenty of social service and nonprofit organizations exist in the City of Spokane, many do not serve our community, nor do they provide in-person access.
Our founder, Sherri Gangitano, spent 16 years navigating resources and advocating for herself and her family. When she founded SVCA, her vision was to pay it forward by making it easier for other individuals and families to remain a strong and stable part of our community.
What We Do
Mission: Supplying the people with the power to raise their voices while providing hope and opportunity.
We do this by using the 3 Rs:
Resource Navigation - Connecting individuals to need-specific resources and guiding effective self-advocacy (WHAT to ask for and HOW to ask).
Resilience Education - Offering a range of basic life skills classes and establishing diverse support groups for personal and community development.
REACT rapid response network - Utilizing our neighbor2neighbor contributions to resolve any acute crisis.
