Description

What is an Educational Access Ambassador?

Educational Access Ambassadors (EAAs) are trained community volunteers who help families understand and complete financial aid applications at school-hosted and community events. This volunteer role helps families complete the application needed to receive financial aid for college, technical programs, trades, and apprenticeships.

Our free training provides the information and guidance needed to understand the financial aid application process and confidently support families. No prior financial aid or college or career experience is required.

Participation is completely flexible. You decide if and when to volunteer. You are welcome to participate even if you do not wish to volunteer at events.

You will never volunteer alone. At every event, trained professionals and fellow volunteers are present to provide guidance and answer complex questions.

This training is for you if you want to:

  • Take a refresher course on FAFSA and WASFA, including up-to-date information on recent changes

  • Volunteer in schools or community settings, assisting families in a meaningful and direct way (Opportunities will be posted on Volunteer Spokane)

  • Gain a better understanding of financial aid for yourself

  • Support your own family or friends with confidence

  • Become a trusted resource in your community

  • Or simply learn how the financial aid system works

Each year, millions of dollars in financial aid for Washington students go unused, often because families are unaware of available opportunities or lack guidance navigating the process.

If you care about helping families access education and want to be part of a community-based solution, we invite you to complete the interest form and become an Educational Access Ambassador.
