Rough Start Horse Rescue

We are the largest horse rescue in the inland northwest. Our mission is to help all horse in need to find their way from a Rough Start... To greener pastures. We are a 501c3 who believe our children are the key to ending the cycle of neglect and abuse.

We rescue horses that have been neglected or abused. We also take in owner surrendered horses when they can no longer care for them. We run a free youth program to teach the kids how to care for the horses and educate on the problems with over breeding. We teach the kids how to show the horses in hand so they can show at fairs and help get the horses forever homes. We help in crisis situation like removing horses from wild fires when the owners don't have the ability or the means. We also have a veterans outreach, they can just come out for a relaxing day, or participate in horse assisted therapy. We also do alot of community events and try to bring the horses stories to light so in the future hopefully there won't be a need for rescue. All the horses we take in are evaluated, rehabed, and training started.
