Who We Are

Since 1988, Women & Children's Free Restaurant & Community Kitchen's (WCFR) has provided a vital safety net that fills nutritional gaps for women and children in need while fostering dignity and respect, both within our restaurant and in the community.

We planned to serve 100,000 meals in 2020, but the needs of our community quickly changed and we launched a dynamic response. We provide over one million meals annually through curbside services and collaboration with 19 local nonprofit organizations. We serve our community with dignity and compassion, guided by the belief that everyone deserves good food.

What We Do

Women & Children's Free Restaurant & Community Kitchen offers two core programs: Meal and Grocery Distribution, which provides free nutritious scratch-made meals, produce, dairy, proteins, and non-perishable items through curbside distribution, and Nutrition-to-Go (NTG), which distributes free, nutritious meals to other local nonprofit organizations.

Our volunteers work alongside our paid staff of chefs, cooks and others. Kitchen assistants, dishwashers, meal/grocery distributors, food packagers, and pick-up and delivery drivers are key positions. We have a well-established volunteer program with an outstanding group of volunteers who share their time and talents, having fun in the process.
