Hosting a show on KYRS is a long-term volunteer commitment, but you won’t be thrown into the deep end. COMMUNITY AFFAIRS & CULTURE A program focused on African-American, Asian-American, or First Nations communities, exploring education, leadership, culture, politics, current events, and opportunities for civic engagement. We focus on voices and perspectives that are often overlooked, and we believe strong local journalism is essential to a healthy community. We especially need help at big, high-energy events like Hoopfest, where thousands of people are already celebrating community. just like we are. KYRS Outreach: Represent the station by staffing KYRS information tables at community events, service fairs, and festivals. You’ll chat with folks, answer questions, share schedules and swag, and help new listeners discover community radio.
