Duties include checking in families on the NEYFS computer, signing up new households, helping to count and bag items, and being a friendly, welcoming presence to households. Receptionist volunteers work directly with NEYFS Resource Coordinator and households, and will be trained at their own pace. There are language barriers between households and receptionists at times, so use of translation software is welcome. Volunteer: Garden VolunteerGarden volunteers can work directly with the Resource Coordinator Mondays through Fridays, 9 to 10 am at our community garden on 1831 E Mission Ave. Garden volunteers work with the Resource Coordinator to: plant, weed, water, prune, mow the lawn, turn the compost, and prep the garden for each season. Garden volunteering is annually closed from November to March. All produce goes to our Little Free Pantry which we restock daily and is available for the Chief Gary Park Neighborhood.
