This volunteer position has an important role in providing fresh meals to our senior clients. It will help us improve the nutrition and quality of the meals we deliver.
The tasks that you may be asked to perform:
• Prepping food with various kitchen utensils
• Portion, pack, and seal meals
• Cleaning (counter tops, cooking equipment, floors, etc.)
• Serve lunch to the seniors who attend Mid-City Senior Center (Monday-Friday)
To be eligible to help with this volunteer position you must:
- Have an up-to-date WA Food Handlers Card
- If you do not have one, Meals on Wheels Spokane will pay for you to take the test and obtain one
- Pass a volunteer background check
This opportunity is available to anyone, 16 years of age or older, who wants to help feed the seniors in our community. You will be working in a team that includes staff member(s) and other volunteers. You do not need any prior experience working in a kitchen. Just a passion for serving your community.
