What is a Volunteer Transit Trainer?
Our volunteers use their bus riding experience and people skills to help individuals gain independence by teaching them new transit routes. Each volunteer is interviewed, provides 3 references, and passes a background check. How does it work? Each volunteer receives 2 hours of in person training with a Travel Trainer, and then will be matched up with trainees to teach them a route that is new to them. After 4 hours of service each month (including training hours) volunteers receive a monthly bus pass on their Connect Card. To volunteer, apply here. Questions?
