Description:  Help Spokane Valley Community Advocates (SVCA) prepare for our September reopening by organizing resources that help neighbors understand options, ask questions, and connect with community support. Resource Navigation volunteers help strengthen the tools used to guide neighbors from hardship toward stability. Volunteers will also be trained in the intake process (by phone) if they stay on after Sept 1, 2026.

 

Volunteer Duties:

Update and verify community resource lists Prepare simple resource handouts for September reopening Help organize Resource Navigation materials for future volunteer training

Description: Help Spokane Valley Community Advocates (SVCA) rebuild the in-kind donation and inventory support behind REACT™. REACT™ Support Volunteers help organize donated items, support inventory tracking, and assist with the donation pipeline that helps SVCA respond to practical needs in the community.

Volunteer Duties:

Create and complete new inventory system Help rebuild retail and in-kind donation partnerships Assist with donation pickup, sorting, and inventory maintenance

ADA accessibility depends on tasks and locations. Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs. preferred; lighter inventory tasks may be available. WSP background check required. 18+

Description: Help Spokane Valley Community Advocates (SVCA) rebuild and strengthen community connections before our September reopening. Outreach volunteers help introduce SVCA to local businesses, schools, faith organizations, and community partners through organized outreach campaigns.

Volunteer Duties:

Update outreach materials for September reopening Reconnect with community partners and referral networks Assist with volunteer recruitment and community engagement efforts

Good Fit For: Volunteers who enjoy connecting with people, building relationships, organizing outreach efforts, and sharing community resources.

Remote planning with community-based outreach opportunities in Greater Spokane Valley.

Volunteer Duties:

Organize digital systems and records Assist with data entry, tracking, and document updates Provide bookkeeping and accounting support Assist with administrative projects based on current needs

 

Good Fit For: Volunteers who enjoy organization, details, record keeping, and behind-the-scenes support. Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, forms, and digital documents helpful.

Help Spokane Valley Community Advocates (SVCA) rebuild long-term support by connecting with donors, businesses, and community partners. Fundraising & Sustainability volunteers help strengthen the resources needed to continue serving Greater Spokane Valley neighbors.

Volunteer Duties:

Assist with donor outreach and communication Research fundraising opportunities and community campaigns Assist with grant writing and sponsorship requests Build connections with local businesses and supporters Support REACT™ in-kind donation campaigns and community giving opportunities

Good Fit For: Volunteers who enjoy building relationships, researching opportunities, writing, organizing information, and helping create sustainable community support. Grant writing or fundraising experience a plus.

Help Spokane Valley Community Advocates (SVCA) strengthen community outreach through creative, technical, and project-based support. Special Skills Volunteers use their experience to help improve communication, visibility, and organizational resources.

Volunteer Duties:

Assist with marketing and community outreach materials Support website updates and social media content Create flyers, graphics, and visual resources Complete special projects based on skills and experience

Good Fit For: Volunteers with skills or experience in marketing, graphic design, website support, social media, writing, technology, or other creative and professional areas.

 

ADA accessibility varies based on tasks and locations. This is most likely going to be a VIRTUAL role. A vehicle is preferred with a driving record required. WSP background check required. 18+. Training provided.

Help Spokane Valley Community Advocates (SVCA) guide the next chapter of our all-volunteer nonprofit. Board & Leadership Volunteers provide oversight, strengthen community connections, and actively support our rebuild and relaunch goals.

Volunteer Duties:

Provide guidance and organizational oversight Support strategic planning and long-term sustainability Strengthen community partnerships and connections Help build leadership capacity for SVCA’s next chapter Support volunteer development and organizational growth

 

Good Fit For: Volunteers with board governance experience or those willing to learn and apply new skills while actively participating in SVCA’s rebuild, relaunch, and long-term sustainability goals. SVCA values diverse perspectives, including lived experience with barriers similar to those faced by the neighbors we serve. Board members should support an inclusive, secular-based environment and be comfortable working with neurodiverse volunteers and community members.

 

ADA accessibility varies based on tasks and locations. Meetings and other work can be done remotely. WSP background check required. 18+. Training/Mentoring provided.

Time Commitment: 5–10 hours per month
Meeting Commitment: 4 quarterly board meetings and 1 annual meeting
Event Support: Assist with 4 community events annually
