Our free Clothing Bank store is looking for a friendly volunteer to help create a welcoming and positive shopping experience for our guests. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys interacting with people, staying organized, and being part of a mission that provides dignity and essentials to our community.

What you’ll do:

• Welcome and greet guests as they enter the Clothing Bank

• Help explain the simple shopping process and guidelines

• Assist guests at checkout and learn you will learn how to use our easy computer check-out system

• Ensure shoppers stay within the permitted item allotment

• Keep the store looking great by straightening bins and pulling empty hangers

• Restock shelves and help replenish diapers and newborn layettes in our Diaper Bank

• Help bring freshly sorted clothing from the back to restock the store floor

This is a hands-on role with plenty to learn, and it’s a great fit for volunteers looking for a consistent, weekly Friday commitment. As a Volunteer Clothing Bank Donation Sorter, you will play a crucial role in helping provide clothing to individuals and families in need. Your responsibilities will include sorting, organizing, and preparing donated clothing for distribution. This position is perfect for those who enjoy hands-on work, are detail-oriented, and have a passion for helping others. 

What You’ll Be Doing: Sort donated clothing by type, size, condition, and season to ensure items are appropriate for distribution. Inspect items for cleanliness, quality, and damage; remove unsuitable donations. Fold, hang, or package clothing as necessary to maintain an organized and efficient donation area. Work with other volunteers and staff to ensure smooth and timely distribution of items. Provide support for other tasks as needed, such as assisting with inventory or restocking shelves.

What We're Looking For: Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently. A team-oriented mindset and the ability to collaborate with other volunteers. Ability to stand, bend, and lift light items for extended periods of time.
