A Dementia Friends Champion is a volunteer who informs community groups about dementia by leading Dementia Friends information sessions. To become a champion:

Attend one 3-hour Dementia Friends Champion trainingLead an hour-long Dementia Friends information session once per monthThese will either be with groups that the Champion works with directly or at events scheduled by the Regional Coordinators

 

By becoming a Champion, you can:

Connect with a group of leaders in our region that is working to develop an age- and dementia-friendly community Interact with other like-minded individualsIncrease your knowledge of dementia and ability to interact with people living with cognitive changesEnhance public speaking skills Maintain your wellbeing
