Carl Maxey Center

The goal of the Carl Maxey Center is to uplift, empower and transform the African American community from the inside out by focusing on Racial/Social Justice & Equity, Business & Workforce Development, Education & Advocacy and Cultural Enrichment. The Maxey Center is a resource for communities of color, as well as for the greater Spokane community, creating an opportunity for Spokane residents to gather, interact, celebrate, network, share experiences, discover resources, receive services, gain support and make connections in an environment that is uniquely African American.

The Carl Maxey Center currently creates, develops and sponsors community workshops, events, lectures and training. Once the Maxey Center building has been remodeled, we will also create and provide programming that facilitates business and workforce development, cultural enrichment, and that connects community members to local resources.
