Who We Are

Historic Flight Foundation Spokane inspires and educates students of all ages.  With aviation-based STEM as its cornerstone, it also offers flight experiences and training for pilots and mechanics.  History presentations emphasize imagination, courage and dedication for the advancement of technology.  Historic Flight Foundation Spokane encourages activities to stimulate aerospace economic development.  High quality social and community events make use of its facility.

What We Do

Historic Flight Foundation is a vintage aircraft museum and aviation-based STEM education center (science, technology, engineering and math). Historic Flight serves a diverse demographic, primarily military veterans who volunteer and visit the museum, as well as young aviation inspired students of all ages.  We also offer flight experiences and training for pilots and mechanics.  The large volunteer and docent contingent includes many retired military veterans who have served our country with pride.  With over 9 vintage aircraft within the museum, all pristine, restored and flight ready, volunteers are able to have hands on experiences with the aircraft and with the community guests who visit.  Young aviation enthusiasts are able to have the opportunity to use the developing Members Library to learn about aircraft history and mechanics.  The STEM education program uses artifacts, people and the facility to help youth appreciate the many ways that it plays a vital role in everyday life.   While not intended as a prelude to a career in aviation, some students will become more interested and involved as a consequence of their exposure to the aviation-based modules. Our goal is to motivate and inspire students to learn more about STEM to find their best career fit.
